FAQ
...Because you're dying to know!
Where is Poppy Candle Collective located?
All candles are made in Fruita, Colorado. The Western Slope is where we call home, this little community has been so good to us!
How often do you launch new collections?
New styles launch every month via The Candle Club. We also launch Seasonal Collections that are independent of the Candle Club. This happens... seasonally! The best way to stay in the loop is to follow us on instagram.
Can you tell me about Candle Safety?
I am so glad you asked. Here are the rules:
1. Never leave them unattended! I mean, as much as we adore a flickering flame, it shouldn’t be the star of the next cautionary tale documentary.
2. Keep away from drafts! Just like I keep my heart away from anyone who doesn’t appreciate Gilmore Girls references.
3. Trim those wicks! Think of it as a mini haircut for your candle—snip, snip, and it’ll burn cleaner and brighter!
4. Use a heat-resistant surface. You wouldn’t put a coffee cup on a fragile teetering stack of books, right? Treat your candles the same way!
5. Store ‘em safely! Keep your candles in a cool, dry place away from pets and little hands.
6. Remove “pretty stuff on top!” Look. Dried flowers are flammable. Be sure to remove the pretty stuff on top and always keep the wax pool free of debris.
What are your candles and vessels made out of?
Great question.
The Wax: Virgin Coconut Soy Wax. In other words, this stuff is high quality. It's gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free and come from renewable sources and is approved by the FDA.
The Wick: All candles receive a wooden wick - this will give the candle the sound of a light crackle.
The Fragrance: We use natural and phthalate-free fragrances. No headaches. *You're welcome*
The Cement Vessels: All cement vessels are made in-house! We mix a "hydro-stone plaster" with natural pigments and then cast them in a mold. After that, every vessel is brushed with a non-toxic sealant. The whole process of making a single vessel takes up to 3 days.
How long will shipping take?
Standard orders are fulfilled Monday through Friday, typically within one day of when your order was placed.
Candle Club orders will ship placed between the first day of the month and the last day of the month will be shipped on or before the 7th of the following month.
The best way to think about this: it's a candle pre-order! If you purchase in January, you will receive February's candle. If you purchase in June, you will receive July's candle (and so on and so forth).
What do I do if my order arrives damaged?
Send an email to poppycandlecollective@gmail.com with your order number and a photo of the damage.
The business of shipping candles is a big deal; all candle boxes are custom made to fit Poppy candles. We do our best to ensure your candle arrives safely to its destination!
How long does it take to receive an email response?
Poppy consists of a small team, but we will still try to respond to emails within 24 hours of receiving them during the week. We do not respond to emails during the weekend.
Do you offer discounts or sales?
Not frequently. As a small business, Poppy carries a lot of overhead including supplies, packaging, marketing, etc. Thank you for shopping small, friend!
Do you offer wholesale?
Poppy is excited to offer wholesale to brick and mortar shops who would like to carry our product. Please email us at poppycandlecollective@gmail.com to discuss creating a wholesale account.
